PICTURE AT LEFT
In this picture the alpha stallion is in the front of the photo and his oldest colt is a the back. At times this band of horses would brake off into two separate bands. The alpha stallion would take the rear of one band and his oldest colt would take the rear of the other band. The two bands would stay within 1,000 feet of each other while traveling. In this way the colt would be mimicking the stallions ways.
The colt was learning what to do when he would leave this band and have a band of his own.
